Review:
- Guinea Pig teeth are open-rooted, which means they grow constantly throughout the Guinea Pig’s life.
- Hay and ‘something else to chew’ is essential to the process of keeping these open-rooted teeth healthy.
- Containing 14 Gnaw Sticks cut from three different types of edible wood; Burgess Excel Gnaw Sticks offer a great option for that ‘something else to chew.
- Uniform in length but with various different widths and bark textures; the Gnaw Sticks offer a fantastically fibrous chewing challenge.
- Some Guinea Pigs are chewers that will bite bars, toys and the occasional foot that strays into their pen. Others get all of their munching needs from hay and will never gnaw anything.
- The majority of the Squidgypigs appeared to be intrigued by the Burgess Gnaw Sticks.
- Slincypig in particular was fond of throwing them around .
- Others like girls Rhona, Blondie and Doughnut were altogether less interested; their heads being turned only by the thin sticks that we turned into veggy kebabs by using them to skewer vegetables.
- I found that leaving a few Gnaw Sticks in their cages overnight resulted in no Gnaw Sticks left in the morning! So somebody definitely loved them.
Conclusion:
- A fun and versatile, natural boredom breaking treat to encourage good dental health.
