I often get asked what all new Guinea Pig owners need to buy.

Here is my essential supplies checklist:

1. Cage (minimum 120cm by 60cm). Traditional or c&c.
2. Bedding (woodshavings, paper bedding or fleeces).
3. Food bowl (sturdy).
4. Dry food (pellet/muesli or forage).
5. Vegetables (and treat fruit).
6. Water bottle (and fresh water).
7. Hay rack/hay box.
8. Hay (good quality, dust extracted).
9. Nail/claw clippers for small pets.
10. Soft brush.
11. Small scissors for long haired piggies.
12. Bowl for baths (and/or washing equipment).
13. Box for transport (eg. Cat carrier).
14. Pigloo/pig bed (somewhere to hide).
15. Toys/tubes (to play with).
16. Pen for garden or floor time.
